in Episodes

We started off the episode by discussing the Conan O’Brien and NBC settlement, what shows NBC has ordered more of for this season, a couple of pilots picked up by AMC, David Hasselhoff getting his own reality show on A&E, Starz having canceled Head Case, the Push being turned into a TV show, Torchwood being developed at FOX, FX giving Justified a premiere date, rumored guest stint of Jennifer Lopez on Glee, Rob Lowe leaving Brothers & Sisters, but probably staying at ABC, and Shonda Rhymes producing a new show.

Next, we talked a little Primetime that included the first three episodes of Chuck S.3 Ep.4, Life Unexpected S.1 Ep.1, Castle S.2 Ep.13, Better Off Ted S.2 Ep.10, and White Collar S.1 Ep.8.

Lastly, Amrie and Jason updated their progress on watching The West Wing and Buffy the Vampire Slayer through for the first time, respectively.

I have a topic suggestion:
There are so many 80s shows I remember enjoying as a kid that I wonder how they would hold up today.
If I watched sitcoms like Small Wonder and Mr Belvedere, would they still be funny to me today? Why in the world, as a 10-year-old boy, did I enjoy The Golden Girls–a sitcom about menopausal women?! How do shows like MacGyver, the A-Team and Quantum Leap compare with similar genre shows today? Do specials effects really make new TV shows better?
It would be neat if you watched some old shows and talked about how they hold up to your memories and how they compare to TV today. Perhaps have an initial discussion on your opinions of what you remember of the shows, then watch the shows and discuss how your opinions changed or not.
If you do this, it would be great if you could let us know ahead of time what you would be watching so we can do our homework.
